Location: On Madeira's southeast coast, the hotel offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.  Amid palm trees and gardens with tropical flowers, the contemporary style hotel sits above the ocean and a short walk into the town of Canico de Baixo with its shops and cafes. The capital, Funchal, is just a 20 minute taxi or bus ride away.  A local bus stops close to the hotel.

Facilities: There is an outdoor seawater pool and a freshwater indoor pool. The hotel is known as an "active" hotel with a gym, aerobics classes, yoga, spa, bicycle rentals, squash courts, dive facilities.

Rooms:  The spacious, air conditioned rooms have , satellite TV (English channels), free wifi, a safe, mini-bar (small charge). Bathrooms are equipped with a  hairdryer.  All rooms have a balcony.  Rooms with a side seaview will have an obstructed view of the sea. All rooms are non-smoking,

Meals:  Breakfast and dinner are included.

Buffet breakfasts include a variety of breads, jams, spreads, yogurt, cheese, muesli, cereals, soft-boiled eggs, omelettes.  Breakfast can be taken in the restaurant or (weather permitting) can be enjoyed on the terrace outdoors.

Dinners are lavish buffets.  The hotel takes pride in its fresh, locally sourced produce and offers daily meat, fish and vegetarian selections plus a variety of salads and local fruit.  Desserts include many scrumptious local specialties.  Drinks are included (one glass of wine, one beer and bottle of mineral water). 

On most evenings the hotel often has entertainment - perhaps a fado singer or a folklore show.
