Self-Guided walk

To reserve a self-guided walk you should let us know your preferred start date. At that time we ask about extra nights and send you a suggested itinerary. When the itinerary is agreed, we contact the hotels and inns along the route and ask them to reserve your room. Once the hotel rooms are being held, we ask for a non-refundable deposit of 25%.

Balance due: eight weeks before the start of the walk.
Payment can be by cheque, credit card or Interac transfer.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express.    

Once a deposit has been paid, the price is guaranteed (as long as no changes are requested).

Alterations to an itinerary: 
Up to the time of final payment it may be possible to alter the itinerary and add extra nights along the way.  (Subject to availability of accommodation).  Once final payment has been made 60 days before the start of the walk there will be penalties for changes.  

Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel your holiday the following penalties apply.
Up to 60 days prior - loss of deposit
60 days to start of holiday 100%

INSURANCE
Teachers’ Travel Service Ltd sells Manulife travel insurance.  The following are types of travel insurance:

TRIP CANCELLATION AND INTERRUPTION INSURANCE
Trip Cancellation Insurance covers you in case you are forced to cancel your walk due to emergency reasons. The reasons which are covered include illness, accident, death in the family, illness in the family, quarantine, being called to jury duty. Trip Interruption Insurance covers you for a refund of the unused portion of your trip if you are forced to stop mid walk due to accident or illness.
This insurance is optional but we recommend that you purchase it if you do not already have coverage. Some travelers have insurance already as a benefit with their credit card or through their employment. The price depends on the cost of your trip, your age and cost of your trip. Ask for a quote when you book.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL INSURANCE
We ask that every participant walking the Camino has medical coverage while away from home. If you do not already have this already as a benefit of your employment or your credit card please ask us for a quote. The price depends on your age and the number of days you are out of the country.

If you are an American residen,t
we suggest you purchase medical insurance from a US insurer. We can recommend several insurance companies.

About Teachers' Travel.

Our company was started in 1970 by a group of teachers. At first our clients were mostly teachers but over the years we have branched out and now people on our tours come from all professions.
