Walkers' World
Guided Walking Holidays in
Provence, France

2018 dates
Sept 22 - 29
From our base in the pretty Provencal town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue we explore sun-drenched countryside and historic villages.  Our walks include villages like flower-filled St. Rémy where Van Gogh painted many of his masterpieces and also go through vineyards whose names sound like a wine list in a great restaurant.  At Arles we see the ancient Roman arena where gladiators once fought. Our final night is in historic Avignon  with its legendary Pont d'Avignon and Papal Palace.

Highlights:
  • Experience a Provence market filled with local food and crafts
  • Taste wine at a vineyard
  • Marvel at the Roman ruins of Arles
  • Explore beautiful Provencal countryside on foot
  • Enjoy French cuisine in a variety of restaurants.
  • Walk the spectacular route across the top of Les Alpilles to legendary Les Baux

About Walkers World Provence Rambles:
This
walking week is a "two-centred" holiday. For six nights we return to the same hotel in the small town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue then spend our final night in the historic city of Avignon. Using private coaches to begin and end most walks enables us to explore the best parts of this beautiful region. Walking whets the appetite so to enjoy French cuisine we dine at a different restaurant each night.

What makes Walkers World Provence walking holidays special:
  • Local professional guides are bilingual and know their history.
  • Dining in a variety of restaurants offers a chance to sample Provencal cuisine
  • Our private bus allows for a flexible schedule to suit our group. No waiting for public transport.
  • Having two levels of guided walking allows you to choose your pace - a "tranquille" amble or a more "sportif" ramble.
