From our base in the Provencal town of
Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
just east of Avignon
we follow trails through sun-drenched countryside and between some of
the prettiest villages of France. Our itinerary includes flower-filled St. Rémy where Van Gogh painted
many of his masterpieces and vineyards whose names
sound like a wine list in a great restaurant. History
abounds. At Arles
we see the ancient Roman
arena where gladiators once fought. Our final night is in Avignon with its legendary Pont d'Avignon and
the magnificent Papal Palace.
Highlights:
- Explore beautiful Provencal
countryside on foot
- Experience a market
filled with local food and crafts
- Taste wine at a vineyard
- Enjoy French cuisine in a
variety of restaurants.
- Walk the spectacular route
across the top of Les Alpilles to legendary Les Baux

About Walkers World
Provence Rambles:
This walking
week
is a "two-centred" holiday. For six nights we return to
the same hotel in the small town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue then spend our final night in
the historic city of Avignon. Using private transportation to begin
and end most walks enables us to explore the best
parts of this beautiful region. Walking whets the appetite so to enjoy
French cuisine we dine at a different restaurant each
night.
Meeting point:
Nice Airport
Ending point:
Avignon
Rail Station
